Doberman

Dedication: for my dog that passed away three years ago.

They called him my shadow

But he was my sun

He knew me better than everyone

He belonged to me

And I of course was his

a surrogate mother

We were each others’

Adoration so bright

He was my delight

Gone now to Heaven

And here I am left

A hole in my chest

No one will fill it

The way that he did.
